Comic Relief Red Nose Day
Cavendish Community Primary School will be having a non-school uniform day for the children on Friday 17th March and in return we ask for a donation on School Gateway or in cash via your child or the school office. At school we will be wearing red and spreading joy through various activities.
We would love it if the children could wear something red. If you have a red nose or want to paint a red nose then that would be great too! You can help us make a memorable event that raises as much money as possible.
The money raised will help support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty here in the UK and around the world. A portion of money raised throughout our Red Nose Day campaign will also go towards the emergency response to the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

World Book Day at Cavendish
We are inviting the children to come to school as their favourite book character and to bring along their favourite book to share.
We would love it if families could donate £1 towards our school library this year - Mrs Taylor and some parents have been working hard in there to make it clean, tidy and welcoming to all but we have lost many books over the years and would love to replenish them.
The PTA have funded a local author, called Tessa Singh, to come in and talk to the children.
We look forward to seeing all the amazing books (and costumes!) that you are reading at home.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is organised by Cavendish Community Primary School and not the PTA.
Non-Uniform Day
As I'm sure you are aware of the tragic news of the earthquake disaster in Syria and Turkey, we would like to make a contribution as a school to the Red Cross Disasters Emergency Committee appeal.
The DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal say that your donation will be used to reach people in urgent need in the aftermath of the earthquakes. It will provide support and aid that includes:
Distributing essentials like food water and blankets
Setting up temporary shelters to support thousands of survivors who are facing freezing conditions
Providing first aid and crisis support
Assisting with the rescue efforts and getting people vital medical aid
Providing psychosocial support to those who have been traumatised
We will be having a non-school uniform day for the children on Friday 17th February and in return we ask for a donation on School Gateway or in cash via your child or the school office.
Some of our Cavendish families have been closely affected by the disaster with family and friends being involved or affected.
We thank you for your support and contributions.
