Autumn 2023 Newsletter

Welcome back everyone and a very warm welcome to all our new parents and carers that have joined us at Cavendish this year. The PTA are very excited to start organising another great year of events and fundraising activities. We do this so we can provide the school with the muchneeded funds required for enrichment activities and events for the children, such as school trips, activity days and equipment.

We had an amazing variety of fundraising activities last year and raised a staggering £25,700 and we would love to top that this year - but we need your help!

Join the Committee

The Cavendish PTA committee are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is being held on Wednesday 27th September at 7pm in the Rhodes Bulding. The committee are responsible for coordinating fundraising activities and allocating the funds raised. All parents, carers, guardians and staff of the school are automatically members of Cavendish PTA and can put themselves forward for committee roles during the AGM.

Current committee members have the opportunity to be re-elected if they decide they would like to continue in the role, but every year this must always be put to a vote to enable others who are interested in the same position to have a chance of joining the committee.

If you’re not interested in a committee role but would like to find out more about the PTA and how you can volunteer we’d also love to see you there. We’re a friendly and welcoming group and would love to have you join us. There’s no commitment to be an active member if you come to the meeting but it will give you a chance to have a say in who is elected and how the PTA is formed for this academic year.

Committee Roles
Chair
Vice Chair
Treasurer
Secretary
Communications Officer

Our current treasurer has decided to step down after an amazing nine years service so this is a great opportunity for someone new to join our committee. This year we are also looking to recruit a Social Media Officer and Class Representatives across all year groups. Class Reps share events with their year group and are a point of contact between parents/carers and the PTA.

If you are interested in any of these roles or have a specfic skill set that you think could be a great addtion to the committee, but you don’t feel is reflected in the current available roles, then we’d still love to meet you. We are always looking to grow and evolve the committee and are keen to make it as inclusive and welcoming as possible.

Full role descriptions can be found on our committee page.

Our AGM will be on Wednesday 27th September at 7pm in the Rhodes Building.
The gate will be unlocked so just come straight through and someone will let you in.
