Record breaking amount raised at 2023 Bonfire Night

Thank you to everyone that came and supported us at this years record breaking Bonfire Night! We’d especially like to thank our incredible volunteers and the teachers and staff who helped us set up the event, run the stalls, cook sausages, bake cakes, steward, and help us clear up at the end of the night. We honestly couldn’t do it without you!

We made a lot of changes to the event this year and so far the feedback has been amazing. We had live music from Jeremy Johnson, hot drinks served up by Kiosk, and pizza by The Boulevard Deli. We also decided not to sell plastic light up toys at this years event (you can read about why here) and instead offered face glitter which went down a storm! We also had our usual tuck shop and hot dog stand, and of course our delicious Bakes & Cakes stall which is entirely stocked by our wonderful Cavendish bakers. We also added a covered seating area too.

Once again Chorlton Fireworks put on an incredible display and even helped us with our first ever “Push the Plunger” competition, which saw one of our Cavendish children set off the fireworks display and raise over £100!

And finally, for the first time ever we had the Bonfire Night sponsored by the wonderful Brsk who gave out goodies at the event.

We can now reveal that the event raised an incredible £13,708.99, which is almost £6K more than last year! We’re honestly blown away!
