Fundraising Update

The PTA have been so busy this term and we wanted to give you an update on all the wonderful things that have been happening.

Back in January we had the Foodbank Collection and had such a wonderful response from the school community. A total of 411Kg of food was donated, which is the equivalent of 979 meals.

In February we had the Disco and raised an amazing £1,433. Thank you so much to all our volunteers and teachers that made it happen!

And in March we saw the unveiling of the wonderful Margaret Ashton Mural. Thank you to all of our wonderful bakers who helped us to raise £195.91. Manchester Evening News covered the event and wrote a wonderful piece about why the mural was created.

It is really wonderful to see all the money raised going to such lovely things to support the Children’s experience at School and we can only do it with the help of our wonderful volunteers. With school budgets being stretched we need your help more than ever so we appreciate all the time you give to our events.

This term your donations are supporting:

  • World Book Day author visit

  • Mad Science Week

  • Christmas Pantomime

  • Crocky Trail trip (Y6)

  • Wellbeing books for the vending machine

  • Reception outdoor play area restoration

  • Reception bike shed

  • Halle Orchestra trip (Y5)

Totalling £9555

Launch of our new website

We are very lucky to have Nicki on our PTA team. She has spent the last few months revamping our website and we are very excited to share it with you all. We will be keeping it up to date with all of our events as well fundraising news with updates on how the money you have donated is being spent across the school.

Acting Responsibly

The PTA has made a commitment to act more responsibly when it comes to caring for our environment and the Children’s Health. Therefore, you may see some changes at our events to reflect this. We are reducing our use of plastic and where possible considering more eco-friendly merchandise, particularly at Bonfire Night. The volume of sweets on offer at Disco and Film night will be reduced and we are being more mindful of the sweets that we do sell. It won’t happen overnight, but we will continue to make small changes. We would welcome any ideas that you may have to support this.

Farewell Heidi

Our lovely Heidi is retiring from her role as Secretary of the PTA committee after 4 and a half years. We are so grateful to her for all her work and commitment in supporting the PTA and helping us to raise vital funds for our school. We therefore have a post open for Secretary commencing after Easter. If you are interested or would like more details please contact us at [email protected] or speak to your class rep.
